The MOOC is divided in 5 modules, around one hour per module.
Modules
Why law?
The aim of the first module is to understand the purpose, the different types and importance of the law
Law in everyday's life
The aim of the second module is to enhance participants’ knowledge of the legal frameworks governing family relationships, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the historical development of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), to promote cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity about human sexuality rights and to equip students with practical insights into how their rights and responsibilities shape their daily lives.
How we make law
The aim of the third module is to examine three different aspects of law-making, to examine how a policy leads to new laws, how a bill becomes a law in the most common process, and to explore the relationship between the law-making process and citizens
What does this have to do with me
The aim of the fourth module is to raise awareness among young people about issues of rights and responsibilities, to know and interpret legal documents that affect our rights and to understand the forms of civic participation in society
Advantages of knowing the law
The aim of the last module is to empower students with fundamental legal knowledge to understand their rights and responsibilities, to foster a sense of social and civic responsibility and to highlight the practical benefits of legal literacy
Each module includes educational methods and tools ranging from video lessons, podcasts, handouts,
interactive activities and other appropriate materials which will bring legal literacy closer to students.
